Introduction to the Working Committee on China-Africa Economic Cooperation Development of the China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association

As China advances its national “Belt and Road” initiative and establishes institutions such as the Infrastructure Investment Bank along the Belt and Road route, cooperation between our country and African nations will deepen further. In the future, the prospects and trade growth in the African market will significantly outpace those of other regions. Therefore, leading Chinese enterprises to “bring in and go out” and truly secure a place in the African market is of great significance for the next phase of enterprise services. Against the backdrop of economic globalization, establishing an organization dedicated to promoting Sino-African economic cooperation and fostering common development is not only the hope of enterprises but also our inescapable responsibility. With a mission on our shoulders, we move forward with courage and determination. The China-Africa Economic Cooperation Development Committee of the China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association has thus been established.

The China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association (China Association for Promoting International Economic &Technical Cooperation) is a national first-level society officially registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, under the administration of the Ministry of Commerce. The current president is Yang ChunGuang, a member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and former deputy minister-level vice director of the State Civil Service Administration. The honorary president is Sima Yi Tieliwaldi, a member of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People’s Congress and a member of the Party Leadership Group. The council and development consortium members include renowned experts and scholars from prestigious institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, and Tsinghua University; representatives from enterprises like Sinopec, China Shipping Aviation, Everbright Xinglong Trust, China Qinghua Group, China Huayong Group, Elion Resources, China Nuclear Construction Group, CRRC Group, Tsinghua Holdings, Wumart Group, China Poverty Alleviation and Development Corporation, and China Post Insurance Group.

The “China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association’s China-Africa Economic Cooperation Development Committee” was established by the China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association. It is dedicated to promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and African countries, as well as fostering their joint development. The chairman of the China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association’s China-Africa Economic Cooperation Development Committee is Ye Junyi. In recent years, the committee has established good cooperative relationships with various African countries (such as Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Guinea-Bissau, Algeria, Guinea, Ghana, Sudan, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, Congo (Kinshasa), Algeria, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Angola, Lesotho, etc.), aiming to build a platform for mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Africa. At the same time, through organizing mutual visits and inspections, setting up economic and trade exchange forums, and hosting cross-border exhibitions between China and Africa, the committee fully leverages its resource advantages to create more cooperation opportunities for its member units.

The main functions of the China-Africa Economic Cooperation Development Committee of the China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association are: to coordinate various forces and serve as a platform for enterprises to establish international multi-sectoral and deep-level cooperative relationships. The association will integrate government resources and overseas resources to provide services such as investment promotion, public relations, investment financing, trade marketing, and cultural exchange for Chinese-funded enterprises, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other entities. It will also organize and participate in international exchanges and project cooperation between China and Africa. In addition, we will fully leverage the advantages of the China-Africa Economic Cooperation Development Committee of the China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association, uphold the principles of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit, conduct multi-sectoral and deep-level exchanges and cooperation, deepen practical cooperation between China and Africa, and actively promote high-quality co-construction of “Belt and Road,” working together to build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
